project: sustain (2016)

the music box project commission six composers (jane aubourg, harry burgess, milan monk, elizabeth jigalin, kezia yap and joseph franklin) to each compose a miniature for an additive ensemble. composers were instructed to compose a miniature that “begins with a sustained sound”.

this project was premiered at backstage music’s inaugural concert featuring yMusic + the music box project at conny dietszchold gallery, sydney.
