elizabeth jigalin

composer/piano (though more often accordion or objects)

where did your musical journey begin?

at my grandma’s piano.
as a child needing noise, not liking silence.
the first time i listened to a piano piece composed by someone alive and living.
with the support of many great teachers.

what's a sound you like?

too many sounds. so, here are four:
clocks
bellbirds
blue tac on C2 piano string
crunchy leaves

outside of music, what gets you excited?

red flowering gum trees
30 Rock
illustrations by maira kalman
old russian cartoon opening sequences
